Blackjack

This year saw the blockbuster movie “21” released and this helped the popularity of the casino game Blackjack becoming highly popular among most people. Blackjack had its birth in France way back in 1700s and soon spread to most of Europe from where it made its way to America and came to be played in the casinos at Las Vegas and Atlantic City. These days’ people in the comforts of their home play the game through online casinos as online Blackjack.

In the online blackjack casino game there is a dealer who deals the cards to players numbering from 1 to 5. Players are required to place their bets or wagers before the dealer starts to deal the cards to the players. The wagers differ from table to table and can be anything from $1 to $500. Players use chips, which can be purchased in various denominations for the game. Once all the players have placed their wagers and the dealer selects the deal option, then players cannot alter their bets and the game starts. As the game progresses, players can keep increasing their bets by adding more chips to the center of the table.

In this game, players are dealt with a pair of cards each and are required to have a hand that totals 21 to win.  For example, when the first 2 cards are dealt and you find that you have an ace and a ten then it means you have a blackjack or a natural 21 and you are entitled to receive 1.5 times your wager. If you receive a face card then it equals to 10 while the cards numbering from 2 to 10 are taken for their face value. The ultimate goal of the game is to make a sum total of 21 and anyone who makes more than 21 bursts, or cannot play further. His money goes to the house and he loses that hand.

There are a number of terms, which are associated with the game like Hit, Stand, Double Down, Split, and Insurance. When you Hit it means you want to take another card. Stand means you want to keep the cards and Double Down indicates that you want to double your bet but will only receive one card. In split, you can divide your pair of cards into two hands. While you are allowed to place the first wager on one hand, you are permitted to place another wager, which must be of equal value on their other hand. Insurance is something, which most players advise against, and is not a very good option for players to choose. In insurance, you can place a side insurance bet. This is done mostly when the dealer gets an Ace as his first card.

Players are free to receive as many pairs of cards they require from the dealer. The aim of the game is to reach 21 or at least the closest to win the game. There are two other options, which players can choose and that is early surrender and late surrender.  In early surrender, the player has the option of surrendering before the dealer checks for their 21 and in late surrender; it works the other way round where the player can surrender after the dealer has checked their cards to see if they have a blackjack or 21.

It is important that you can tell the difference between a soft and hard hand and pairs. When a player has an ace then it means a soft hand while hard hand means the player does not have an ace. A pair means two cards with the same numbers. In various casinos it depends on eth house rules and that decides on what is the minimum number that the dealer has to stay at. Mostly it is 17; this means that the dealer has to make a minimum of a sum of 17.

It is important to develop blackjack strategies for your self or it could mean your losing lots of money. Strategies help you to maximize your chances of earnings and your winnings. There are many free online Blackjack games on the internet, which you can play for free to improve your skills at the game. Once you are sure about your ability to play the game with ease and the confidence of winning, then you can start by playing at tables that have the minimum bets or wagers. Then you can move on to the other tables that have larger wagers. Generally blackjack is called the game with the least house advantage and more often than not, the average player stands a decent chance of winning if he plays at length.
